ToneStack App Reviews

Awesome FX app

One of my favorites. Great value and high quality. Loads of fun to be had. Thanks Yonac.

Great So Far

Ive tried Ampkit, Line 6 POD, Jamup, and AmpliTube (including IAPs), and Tonestack is the best so far. Most amp sims (including PC plugins and outboard hardware) suffer from digital-sounding overtones. Tonestack doesnt seem to display this flaw, and the amps sound thicker and more life-like. I cant say if the sims sound exactly like their true-life counterparts, but I like what I hear. Ive seen complaints about the user interface, but I like it. Its a personal preference thing, of course. My only gripe is that it works as an IAA effect and not an instrument. Some apps will only work with IAA instruments (e.g., Beatmaker 2), but the workaround is to use Audiobus. So, this is not a major flaw. I just bought the Motherload IAP, so Im going to test all the amps out, and possibly update this review if my opinion changes. But Im impressed so far.

The tone! The tone!

ToneStack truly is the mother lode! The best!

The Best

I sell I rigs and other equipment. I have all the apps...Bias, stomp box, Amplitude and others..Tonestack is by far the best of all of them. Also, all this talk about pedals and analog amps, that is what we call "mystic voodoo guitar crap". I take my iPad, Irig, Tonestack, plug into my amp and I have hundreds of the best setups and tones out there. Wake up guitar boys, this is the way to go......Thanks and we look forward....

Wonderful control, best amp/pedal sim on ios

Finally an app with pitch shifter pedals that dont glitch out! The fx and optimization are amazing. Runs way better than all other amp sims ive used. Super low latency (better than even jamup which is great). Tonestack doesnt sound quite as messy and warm as jamup or bias (they both run off of positive grids same audio engine) but in some ways thats a good thing. Theres a much more modern, literal and polished feel with easier control over sound and the pitch fx actually work right. Jamup and bias fx pitch shifter pedal sound terrible and constantly glitch. Tonestack sounds great and runs like a dream. It doesnt function exactly like a real amp (turning controls to extreme integers with yield sometimes harsh but interesting tones) but it does give you a sense of being a modern piece of hardware instead of trying to emulate something old exactly. That being said with a little fiddling warm rich tones are easy to get. Especially for cleaner tones its been a godsend. Id recommend this and jamup for a complete range of modern and vintage sound.

Not bad

Sounds quite good but the in-app list is too fat to be fair. Totally over rated.

Magic bread and fine butter made EASY and TASTY

easy choice from icons allows inserting external instrument (AA arpeggios or played,or for added effects)that let you freely adjust YOUR sound... -hands...free!- By sliding inserts WHERE most suitable AND balance externals with Your guitar input to process it is as well...EASY Swapping beetween inserted apps is a dream, adjusting(if needed?)their balance -from INSIDE Yonacs- to respect external original tones without over loading it..! A 5 stars concept typical of ALL Yonacs APPS, let you play with added controls far beyond any original instruments possibilities : Just enjoy YOUR Easy choice... . its a YONAC wizard wonder..as usual Dont Miss its multitracks studio and tape recorder (for file import) no where that easy, trusty, then allowing editing tracks adding MORE sound effects after recording as none can do that easy to...DO and get such pro sounding without hassle nor limitation of content...Perfect sound engineer(ing) included !!!

Very Good and The price too (41€ for all packs!!)

20/20!

Ok

promising but in my opinion not yet there. Flexible routing options but for me the simulation of the metal amps was disapppointing. Marshall Amps have been fun to play with. I really like the idea of being able to switch off the cab simulation. i would like to connect a standalone cab sim with audiobus

Incredibly Good!

For a non-expert player theres yet nothing better. Spectactular factory presets, sounding simply right. If you dont have the expertise to judge enigmatic tech-details like tube-bias, go for tone stack. Love it!

Great app but...

Terrific app overall but always reverts back to input 1 with Apogee One which is annoying because thats the internal mic on the One, not the instrument input. Please fix ASAP.

Trully awesome

Great app, easily worth the money. Not only is this awesome for guitars but it sounds amazing with synths. Interface is perfect. 5/5

Excellent!!

I just scratched the surface of what it can do, and so far I like what I hear! Stereo, stereo, and more stereo. That is a huge difference from the "other" famous iOS modeler apps. Thanks for making this app, it is freedom in sculpting your sound.

Perfect

Get the "Motherload" bundle and you can do anything. Pure enjoyment, intuitive UI and as many features as I will need for a long time. Great app and again, make sure you get the Motherload bundle. Its a fantastic deal and you wont regret having everything. I am not a professional musician but I enjoy making music that sounds great. I have the other similar apps for iPad and I always go back to this one. You will never regret getting Tonestack with its Motherload. Perry

Effects disappear and sound muffled

For some reason the effects disappear when I play back a ToneStack track on Auria. Why? I have to use AudioShare to keep the effects present. Please repair this problem. The sound is somewhat muffled which creates some drowning out of other sounds during recordings as well as unnecessary noises

Brilliantly spectaculars!

All the Yonac apps I have are phenomenal, if you are thinking about adding to your collection you really cant go wrong with this developers amazing work. Tonestack v 1.7 is top draw in its basic form but touches almost tonal nirvana with the Motherload v 1.0. I run it through an iPhone 5s and iRig 2 into a Gibson GA-5 amp and the tones are stacked huge, works great with headphones too. Future updates Id like to see...more amps like Supro, Gibson, Magnatone, Dumble, Standel...more effects such as Echorec, Watkins Copycat. Tonestack is my favourite amp&cab&effects app on iOS. THANK YOU YONAC definitely five stars all the way.

Beats out all the rest by far

Ive got every iOS app for amp and effect modelling on my iPhone 6 and I keep coming back to this one. Its more of an all in one package and the tones are excellent. Stereo makes a huge difference, as does the amp blending. Everything about this app is studio quality. Im hooked on the effects and the amps are endless in their possibilities. Usually with these iOS apps I stick with one or two tonal variations between two amps. With this one it seems like every amp and cab mixture is another useable flavour. Well done and I look forward to updates! New update to Motherload v2 is yet another huge improvement. The Dr. Z amps are just an excellent improvement on what was already a great set of amps to choose from. Improved load times are a welcome addition as well.

Very nice indeed

Great program! Its the only amp and effect simulation I have tried that can play at 48khz and 24 bit depth! Good going!

The Best!

This app is the best guitar app for the iPad by a pretty wide margin especially if you get the Motherload bundle. I have them all and I use this one the most. It just has way more pedals and amps and they sound great.

Motherload!

On sale it is a great deal! Some really nice effects here. Im using this with a hardware keyboard and loving it. Great job. Thank you yonac. Only wish would be some more effort put in to the appearance. Of course sound is always the priority.
